So Many Girl Scouts!

The Red Bank Primary School and Mrs. Russo were awarded the Good Neighbor Community Award. Mrs. Russo attended the Adult Recognition Reception and accepted the awards. The Primary School has an after-school Girl Scouts program that services students who attend Red Bank Borough Public Schools. The Primary School Girl Scouts includes 110 students who participate in the program! They meet once a month to work on different activities to earn their badges. This year the girls worked hard selling cookies to reach their goal and earned enough money to have a pizza party and a presentation by the Mad Scientist! The Primary School girls plan to extend their program next year to include trips off-site.

The Red Bank Middle School was also recently awarded the Good Neighbor Community Award!  RBMS initiated a 4th and 5th grade Girl Scout Troop this school year in which the 2 groups meet after school 1-2 times a month. The girls have a wonderful time making crafts, participating in a variety of projects, and working collaboratively on activities that allow them to have fun, build confidence, and promote good character.  The Troop also enjoys fundraising in order to go on field trips. They sold Girl Scout cookies and all proceeds helped finance a trip to Philadelphia to see Independence Hall, Liberty Bell, and The Mutter Museum. Also, the troop went on a trip to Popcorn Zoo to earn their Animal Habitat Badge. In September the girls are looking forward to bridging into “Cadets”, the next level of scouting! We are thankful for having such a great partnership with this Girl Scout Troop.
