The Red Bank Borough Public School District was one of 11 school districts to receive the prestigious distinction of Lighthouse District by the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE), an honor which recognizes substantial academic improvement.
“This distinction validates the work we are doing as a school community,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Jared Rumage. “I am grateful to work in such a supportive community, with such talented and compassionate educators, and for the kindest and most talented students in America. We will continue to strive to be the Best In America so that we will always be the Best for Red Bank.”
The winners were announced at the NJDOE’s statewide Equity for All conference held at The College of New Jersey on Wednesday, July 31, 2019. The conference was attended by nearly 1,500 educators from across the state including over 20 teachers, leaders, and Board of Education members from Red Bank Borough.
“Lighthouse districts can serve as beacons of success for public education in New Jersey,” said Education Commissioner Dr. Lamont O. Repollet. “We recognize Lighthouse Districts for tremendous academic gains, for demonstrating that all schools can excel and all students can achieve.”
During the award term from July 2019 to July 2021, officials from Lighthouse Districts will have the opportunity to participate in professional learning and networking opportunities between Lighthouse Districts and other districts, take part in diversity and inclusion training, and provide insight to the NJDOE through policy discussion.
The Red Bank Borough Public Schools look forward to sharing our strategies and stories of success with
districts throughout the State. We always have big dreams in Red Bank and are students do as well. We will
continue to support them on their individual journeys.Red Bank, NJ – August 2, 2019
